Hi, unfortunately i recognized this decent some 30 years ago! this is a statement from my proposal when i decided to build a tool to intercept this decent and recapture out creative essence as its in the streets that the art of all creativity lies:

• The mindless descent of youth into street crime and violence embracing gangsterism as a method of social survival. The violent street culture we are experiencing globally has much to do with a kind of copycatism; interpretations of sexy and fashionable is further eroded by the popular music and movie industries who project crime and violence as an admired method of social survival.

As a response i have created the iStreet Lab a mobile community multimedia lab, which ’recycles’ individuals and communities using technology to engage them. iStreet Lab focuses on recycling human behaviors, because you cannot change the world, without first changing the mind of the youth, who are our future!
